Stormy weather and Castletownbere..

Stormy weather blew in this morning, a bit of rain and lots of wind. I'd walk up to the top of the hill and I could have spread my wings and floated up!
We had a traditional Irish breakfast and left mid-day for Castletownbere just down the way. It is a busy port and a beautiful town to just walk around. We'd been here 12 years ago and it looked much the same. We had lunch at the same restaurant as then, different personnel!
As a good reminder, one of our party forgot to notify his bank that he would be in Ireland and he cannot withdraw money from the ATM. Fortunately others of us can..
Walking, talking and just watching - we met an old photographer that did weddings in the area for 40 years; he started out with a box camera and just recently has switched to digital. Currently he just does a few parties, no more than 3 hours of work! Fascinating who you meet and what you learn just hanging out on the sidewalk with a smile on your face.
The rain started in earnest as we left the town and has continued for quite a bit. We're eating Irish cheese and crackers and enjoying Irish music..a great way to spend a rainy evening!

Enjoy!

Light on the hills - classic shades of green on Irish hills.

This is an incredibly funky pub - can't describe it...

Hooded crow - Hoodie - talking to the world!

Watching the world go by..
