A day in Baltimore...

Baltimore, County Cork, Ireland - a working seaport. Small town, beautiful and lots of friendly people. We met a gardener who volunteers to keep Baltimore a Tidy Town, a retired photojournalist who had worked 40 years in America for various publications, including the original People magazine. Guys preparing their small sailboat for a race tomorrow and kids playing, folks talking outside...fun day. I did not know I would come to Ireland to get a sunburn!

Todays photos are my normal potpourri of subjects - what catches my eye and what presents itself. I hope you enjoy!

A pirates castle with old cannon on top and a rook sitting on the cannon!

Interesting word..

These are laid out from a fishing boat - and then wound back on a cylinder. Yes, those are chains.

Colorful fishing nets with the castle and rental condos in the background

Morning breeze on the bay..

Low tide exposed the vertically stacked seawall covered in seaweed.

Our hotel is the white with green trim and the restaurant is the one with the windows all across.

Saturation!!

Young sisters taking care of their younger brother..

Mending nets is part of the homework..

Seashore abstracts..

The rooks show up about midday and are not bothered by people.

Hi Gerry! Carmen and I have been looking at your beautiful pictures and enjoying seeing your Irish adventure. We loved the combination of modern life and the past merging together. Here in the US we don't have castles in the background! Please send Diana much love from us and the same to you.
