Albion Basin morning..

A cool morning at Albion Basin..32 plus a 10+ mph breeze. I think it was more like 20! No four-legged animals seen, only small birds and a couple of Flickers.  No jays either.
Great sun with the clouds scudding above..Some fall colors showing up.

Uintas Tuesday

I visited the Uintas Tuesday, hoping for some wildlife to show up. No such luck. BUT it was a beautiful fall day, warm in the sun and cool when the breeze blew. About 48 at the higher elevations. Not a lot of leaves changing yet, perhaps after the coming storm.
One Redtailed Hawk got curious enough to do a flyby...

Still lots of green...

Miscellania

I've been reviewing old photos and reliving memories. Along the way I found a few that I wanted to share..

This is a faery house that people have built in the faery forest on Monhegan Island, Maine. There are around a hundred of these little make-believe houses scattered in the woods for the faeries.

The next two are from our trip to Monhegan Island also.

Refuge Wednesday

Very quiet day at the refuge.  A couple of white pelicans, a couple of great blue herons and a snowy egret. Plus a few geese, terns, and shorebirds. Short visit..maybe the coming storm will bring some travelers with it.

While not a refuge photo, the Smoke Tree flower is beautiful.

Zoo photo walk

Another fun day at the zoo with Randy!

I guess one could say that when you seen one lion you've seen them all,,, but not us! Always a different take on each animal. A different way to see them. Plus some of the normal ways that are just stunning all the time.
Enjoy!

McCall Day 2

A sunny day with the clouds holding off until later in the afternoon. Diana and I drove around most of Payette Lake, very beautiful. No moose, though!
Lunch with Diana and Lisa's old friends, Gene and Tish. Then the lake tour and back to the condo. Just in time to miss the afternoon shower.
Sean and I walked this morning and found the Downy hanging out gathering seeds. During the day we had a couple of visits from deer so a few photos of them.
Enjoy!

Mrs. Woody..

Mom and baby came by the condos to say hello to the folks watching them....

Tranquil beauty along the lake's edge..

Waiting for us back at the condo, she sat and watched several folks walk by her .....

McCall, Idaho

We're spending a few days in McCall, Idaho, using up some expiring timeshare points. Turns out to be a good time to be here as the crowds have gone (mostly) and the weather is cooling off. Forecast of 37 tonight!
Lots of rain on our drive up Sunday as well as today but clearing tonight. We'll see about tomorrow.
We visited old friends of Diana and Lisa, toured Ponderosa State Park, watched the sunset over Payette Lake, drank Guiness in a bar. Also watched deer wander around pretty much unafraid.
With the rain, not a lot of photos. But got a couple anyway!
Enjoy!

Rainy forest colors....
