Refuge Saturday

A bright, sunshiny and cold day at the refuge. Lots of hunters around, duck and pheasant, and some photo nerds like me. But the Harriers kept harrying and the day was so beautiful.
Here's some of my favorites...

Refuge Sunday

A brisk morning at the refuge with lots of duck and pheasant hunters out early. A beautiful morning with the rising sun highlighting the grasses. A bit of hoarfrost in places added a touch of drama.
Red-tailed Hawks played, pheasants ran across the road, and two ravens harassed an eagle as it ate it's catch.
A great morning to be alive and at the refuge..

Refuge Thursday

A bit more active at the refuge today, more Harriers, a Kestrel and a Bald Eagle. Along with the two Red-tailed Hawks that either play and whistle in the sky or sit like bumps on a log in the trees.
Here's the ones I liked...

Isn't he the cutest?

Refuge Wednesday

Boy, what a quiet day in the marsh! Two Harriers and one Red-tailed showed their faces but not very conveniently (for me). The stars of the day were the two pheasant and a Great Blue Heron - plus Molly doing her ball retrieve act.
Nice day and we took a long walk through a meadow to see a lot of grass..

The Holy Ghost came back, tho'...

Molly ready to go after the ball..

He wears his colors quite well...

Refuge Monday

A hazy, smoggy day everywhere in the valley. YUK! But the Harriers are still hunting and the Red-taileds are still playing. A few herons here and there..

The Pied Bill in front looks weird!

Love these Red-taileds....
