Another time, another space

Taking a short ride yesterday after lunch and here was this old wagon.  So classic against the open range and the mountains I just had to stop and take a photo!

A gift from the birds

Our new water feature has attracted a lot of birds - and bird poop.  They now have running water 24 hours a day and love it. One of them left us a gift yesterday....

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving morning dawned clear and cold here, 25, and had a full moon waiting for me to photograph just over the mountains. The doves on the arbor were glad they weren't on the menu today!

Beautiful Ending

Tuesday was a dynamic and changeable day - cold south wind that turned to a cold north wind that turned to a warm south wind later in the day.  Chilly out as we planted most of the last plants that are in pots - only a few left to go. Atherton Nursery provided some additional plants and those are going in also!
Then the wind stops and the sky presented a dramatic and fiery close to the day!

Ocean continued....

Hawaii this time, with a sunset and a sunrise. I love the quality of light in Hawaii - very rich and luscious.

Ocean memories

We're heading out to the Pacific Ocean via Point Arena over Christmas to New Year's this year so here's some shots taken in that area that I enjoy.

Body of Work

I've been going through my photos to slowly define a body (or two) of work for show. Hard for me to do because I seem to want to photograph anything with beauty in it - as I perceive it. So I'll share a few of the ones that I picked over the next period of time. Feel free to let me know your thoughts.

More Green River shots

We ate lunch at Ray's Place, burgers and beer and the food was good. Worth stopping at. A couple of photos from driving around town and a couple from our afternoon trip to look for sheep.

Afternoon sun on the buttes.

These rocks look like little Pacmen!

Looking for Bighorn Sheep

We're in Green River for the purpose of photographing Bighorn Sheep.  We've not been able to spot any sheep (nor has anyone else) in areas where they are normally abundant. So what to do - Capture Moments of Beauty!
Here's a few from the day that I like:

Snow in Erda

We had a nice snowstorm yesterday afternoon - mostly wet snow so lots of moisture! Cold this morning and sunny. Guessing the snow will be all gone by tomorrow.

After the storm Monday afternoon:

Beauty before the storm

A storm is coming (supposedly) and the sky seemed to reflect a hint of that at sunset yesterday - lights and darks and clouds moving up from the south.

Mulching!

We got a load of 15 cubic yards of mulch from the SLC landfill, dumped it on the driveway and Wow - what a lot of mulch! I got a bobcat and moved it all Saturday but here's what it looked like before moving it!  Murphy was a big help also!

Morning moon and friend

I took this a few days back as the early morning moon rose over the Oquirrhs with it's planet friend. Simple yet it catches me.

Hawkie

The Sharp-shinned hawk made an appearance today, sitting just above the bird feeders where moments before there had been 30 to 40 small birds! S/he's young and has found a bonanza here with all this food just a moment away!
Had to take the shots through the window because he wouldn't have been there if I had opened the door.

Stormy day

Southerly wind up to 40 mph gusts or so, too much flying dirt to work outside! So here's an inside shot taken when the sun snuck out!

Water feature progress!

From the crazy Swede driving the Bobcat to Diana toasting the progress with champagne, we had an exciting day today. Moving much closer to completing Diana's vision we placed plants and it all started to fall together. Lots more to do but wow - what a transformation!

Crazy Swede!

Miscellania

Another parade down Spiral Springs Road yesterday - this time with kids riding on the horse. A good way to get them acclimated to the horse, it seems.
Artichoke blossoms retain their beauty for quite a while - these have taken up residence on our coffee table and add their beauty to the house.

Water is Running!

Well, the water is running!  We filled it up and turned the pump on yesterday afternoon and boy does it sound GOOD! It is mesmerizing to stand there and watch the water flow and listen to it's music!
More work to complete it but exciting times!

Oh and it is snowing now!

Wild weather

Major wind today and yesterday - 65+ out on I-80.  Cooling down and a bit of rain but darn I love storms for the light and clouds.
