A relaxing day in Kenmare

Flahavan's oatmeal in the morning with cream and honey - yummmm. Then a short ride to Kenmare about noon, the girls went shopping and the boys walked around and played with the cat that showed up for petting and explored the town. Kenmare has an interesting history and the Heritage Center has a great display of what happened. We didn't get to the lace center - the boys didn't care and the girls were busy. Next time.
We met an older gentleman with a cap that said Almost on one side and Fifty on the other. I had to ask - he said that his daughter had arranged a party in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary. However she did it on their 49th by mistake! So rather than cancel the party they went ahead and used Almost Fifty as a theme. He said it was the best party ever!
We purchased take out Thai food for our dinner at home - very good. After a while one needs a break from fish. Then a leisurely evening with a fire for comfort.
Very windy today - and a bit of rain. Clear skies last night so we watched the stars for a bit.

Looking up the field westerly at our cottage.

Our favorite pub in Kenmare.

The guy and gal in the hats - he told me that "She leads and I follow!"

Almost lifelike..

The wind started up just as I was ready to take the photo - so I got several different photos all from the same spot as the wind moved the petals around!  Lovely.

I took several photos of this church from different places as we walked around; this was the best scenic view.
