We arrived at Shannon, IRL on 9/13 about 10am local time after leaving SLC on 9/12 at 11am. Long trip but not bad traveling - the plane to Shannon was not full so Diana and I got to spread out a bit.
After renting a car and having lunch we began our 4 hour drive to Baltimore where we are staying for the next two nights.
Driving south in Ireland - there really is no straight line to drive on. So we saw a lot of the countryside along the way. Much more enjoyable than freeway driving.
We reached Baltimore with no more than a couple of scares - too close to the left side of the road once and then moving way over for the lorries. They don't slow down.
I captured a few photos on the way down; it is often hard to find a place to stop to take a photo on the smaller roads. One has to be quick, creative and be willing to drive a ways and turn around and come back. All the while adjusting to the fact that traffic is different here.
A short nap at the hotel, dinner at the pizza place downstairs, a Guiness at the local pub and off to bed. Perhaps a trip to some of the islands off Baltimore tomorrow.
