Pine Canyon hike

Murph and I needed some hiking time together so we moseyed over to one of the trailheads to Pine Canyon on the east side of the valley - about 4 miles away:-) A nice walk through a variety of terrain, including a firebreak done to hold back the fire that burned here this summer.
A couple of familiar birds stopped by to say hello - the chickadee and the scrub jay. Since we have no trees around our house yet, they don't seem to find their way over there.
Then some seed pods - how they can create such beauty is fascinating to me. Always carry your camera!
