Another Bird day!

This time at the Farmington Bay Wildlife refuge. Lots of folks with $6K lenses shooting eagles at the far end where the carp are so Murphy and I took several hikes down the various dikes.  As usual, wildlife is everywhere and you really don't need to travel very far to see it. If fact, you could just find a comfortable spot, put your camera on the tripod and wait - sooner or later everything shows up.

So here's some of the bird shots I took with my $800 lens; they come out pretty well.

Immature bald eagle - perhaps 3rd year morph

Juvenile Northern Harrier

Rough legged hawk - he was watching 3 eagles about 40 yards away and he moved around kind of sneakily!

Adult Northern Harrier - rather menacing look!

Another rough legged - he sat there and watched me forever.

Mature Bald Eagle

The ubiquitous American Kestrel, male.

Tundra swans - they are beautiful.
