Fuzzy is a hunter; I've stopped feeding birds at the feeder to reduce the carnage that he wreaks! But his instincts continue to dominate as this photo shows. A stray songbird in the grapevines has him focussed and ready, perhaps he is sending his 'evil eye ray' into the bushes to capture the bird and render it stupid before he catches it!
As a hunter, he kills mice and rats - yes, rats. where they come from and how they continue to breed is a mystery, but every other day or so there will be a large dead rat in the backyard. He no longer brings his four-legged prey into the house, thank God!
Here he is, eternally hopeful that the food will fall into his mouth (my take).
