Refuge Wednesday

I took a few hours today to check out the refuge. No high expectations as a lot of the road is closed for the breeding season. But, what fun! Starting right at the DWR buildings two Sandhill Cranes were enjoying the mild weather. Then Harriers and kestrels joined in the fun. Spotted a rough-legged sitting in a tree quite aways away plus a Bald Eagle out on a stick in the middle of a field. Thinking the herons were all further down the road and feeding.
Enjoy!

Almost forgot - the Killdeer have also arrived...
