Eagles and Herons oldies

Quite a few Bald Eagles and Great Blue Herons today, as I wandered through the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016 in my archives. While eagles can and will sit for hours on the ice, when they get together and there is food around they can be hilarious! The first few photos document some goofiness seen.
The gulls hang tight around herons as the herons 'might' lose their grip on the fish they catch and the gulls want to be there just in case!  Fun!

Balancing act when you are this big on a small branch.

Harriers are opportunistic hunters and they opportunity to grab a pied bill grebe was too great to pass up.

Exposure!!

Northern shovelers are gorgeous birds.

Waiting around in a snowstorm wondering what and where to go next.
