North Carolina November 2016

A river otter invaded our friends pond for a while and I was fortunate enough to capture a few images of it. Early morning - apparently they feed nocturnally - and it was well aware of me and I think showing off.
He was quite the fisherman, coming up with a fish every time he dove. Then he would swim around with the fish in various positions in his mouth as he chewed on it - I could hear him chew - all the while showing me what he was doing.  Maybe it was a threat - watch out or I'll do this to you!

He was there two mornings and then not available - and the next year at the same time we did not see him. Hope his travels were safe.
Enjoy!

Good morning!

Resting

Here's the catch..
