Paris Day 7

Rain in the night freshened the air for our tours - Pompidou Centre and Musee Carnavalet. The Pompidou was a bit of a disappointment only because the exhibit that we thought we were going to see closed the day before :-(. So we toured the Contemporary Art exhibition, had a great glass of wine at the open air rooftop cafe and enjoyed the scenery from the sixth floor.

Then off to the Carnavalet - where the history of France is on display. From the pre-Romans, Roman and up through the French Revolution, we found the museum displays and commentary by Rick Steve's to be quite interesting.

A Rick Steve's recommended restaurant was our choice for dinner and it was excellent - although there were several Americans in there and we are the noisiest culture in the cafe!

A bus ride home was a bit frustrating - the street where we planned to catch the bus was one way the wrong way!  Lisa talked to a couple of bus drivers and they helpfully pointed us in the right direction. The maps were useless on this one!

Friday - off to Chartre!
