Paris Day 6

A very inspiring day today.  We began with Musee d'Orsay and were greeted with a stunning selection of masterpieces. Monet, Gaugin, Van Gogh, Rodin, and on and on - gallerie after gallerie full of delightful art to soak in and we did.
But first we took a moment to look at the art on the sidewalk near us - three apparent stencils that we had been walking by every day and always commented on. See what they make you think of!

Unfortunately for me, no photography was allowed inside d'Orsay, although I did sneak in a couple of shots of the interior, and then some from the 5th floor looking up at Sacre Couer. Lisa had been here before and spent more time this visit seeing all that she had seen and missed from her last one.
This really is a must see for anyone with an interest in the masters - and an easily negotiated venue. The museum pass worked great - entered the side entrance (Reserved) and showed pass and away we went without waiting in line.

These were in the shop at d'Orsay.

A cheese shop and a little tiger were part of the lunch walk.

After a break for a bite to eat we visited Musee Rodin and were immediately enthralled by the gardens, sculpture and roses (very fragrant). Here all the sculpture was placed throughout the gardens where we could wander or sit and absorb what we were seeing.

That is the Eiffel tower in the background.

The Thinker a.k.a. the Pooper!

A bus ride home, a stop at the neighborhood boucherie for roasted chicken and other yummy items for dinner, the neighborhood wine store for refreshments and the boulangerie for fresh baguettes and we were ready for dinner and relaxation.
