Paris Day 5

We planned to tour St. Chapelle today, but - despite calling earlier - when we arrived we were told there was a 'problem inside" and it was closed until 2:30. So we adjourned across the Seine to the Irish pub for a Guiness etc.., then came back at 2:30. Wow, the line was a half mile long and they were not doing anything for Museum Pass holders; soooo off we went to the Marais and Place des Vosges and Victor Hugo's place.

Reliable bus 69 took us out there quickly, we got off at St. Paul and were immediately immersed in the shops and people there. Wandering up the street to our destination allowed me to capture a few interesting shots.  We were just down the street from Bastille and caught the statue in the sun.

The Place was full of people - families playing together, picnicking, digging in the sand, etc. - a great place to gather within the city and away from the traffic of San Antoine and Rivoli.  Victor Hugo's house was interesting, for me mostly to better understand the impact one person had on France and the world.

The back to the street for a snack and wine and some food shopping for dinner. The choices were sumptuous and Diana had a great time choosing.

Setting sun colored the landscape as we made our way back across the Seine to catch the RER home.

Down into the tunnel to catch the RER home!
