Part of any wild place are various tracks in the land - snow in the winter, mud and dirt in the summer. At the refuge, the coyotes roam and we often find their tracks. I can always tell when Murphy smells a coyote - his normally upright tail drops quickly between his legs and he becomes very cautious. He stays much closer to me and loves to head back to the truck when it is time to go.
Here's a couple of shots from the refuge last week.
