Sanibel Island

We arrived at Sanibel about noon yesterday, early morning flight from Chicago went smoothly. 25 degrees in Chicago and 65 in Ft. Myers when we arrived.
Very relaxing walking out into the sunshine and smelling the moist, fragrant air of Florida. Egrets and herons watched as we drove across the causeway to Sanibel. We met up with Chris and his family (Diana's son who lives in Miami) and had a great lunch, then secured our rental and spent time on the beach before dinner.

A few shots from last night and this morning - so great to be out on the beach just hanging out, wandering around and watching the birds and people and water. Fish jumping just offshore, pelicans fishing, osprey hunting - along with the shorebirds whose antics delight us.

Sunset colors - time to take down the umbrella and go home

Early sunrise across the bay.

A seeker of shells on the beach.
