The ladybugs are a favorite of mine and are out in force this year, with all the aphids and other food for them. The multi-purple flower just begged to be photographed, so I obliged :-)

Ladybugs and Hawks
From the very small to a medium size animal - they all came into the lens today. I was sitting on the deck waiting for the hummingbird to come to the feeder, when the Sharp-shinned Hawk came to the wires! A beautiful and ferocious being, there is an "I'm in charge" energy that exudes from them (or is it "Don't mess with me!"?). Whatever it is I am always captivated by them.

Not sure which of the "in flight" photos I like best. The first lady bug picture is a great portrait. :-)
