Maine - Monhegan Island Day 1

The day began wonderfully, with sunshine coming in the blinds and the smell of coffee from the dining area.  We had a wonderful breakfast at the Topside Inn, vegetable frittata and fruit.
Then down the hill with our luggage to the Balmy Days Cruise line wharf.

On-board an interesting mix of passengers - the old adage that owners start to look like their dogs?
The Island Inn towers over everything as you come into the harbor, but is not so imposing once you get up next to it.
The small island across the channel had some beautiful clouds for us after we arrived.
The island calls to artists of all types, and painters can be found everywhere around the island during the day.
Ducks entertained us at a beach during low tide - splashing and playing.  This is why I got the 6 fps camera!
A picture of Maine would not be complete without adirondack chairs.  These were up the road from the inn, and Walter, a golden labradoodle, lived there.  He is very cute.
I watched this scene for a while - the fisherman would catch small fish and throw them to the cats. I think that the orange and white was the alpha.  The black and white rolled over on his stomach and invited you to pet him - then scratched you quickly!  I'm sure it is a game he has played for many years with many visitors.
This view from the dining room porch was our goodnight from Mother Nature.  What a wonderful and peaceful way to end the day!
