Refuge Monday

Quiet and sunny although with smog building up. A lot of birders today, more than I've seen in a while.
The Red-tailed juveniles greeted me on the way in and out, Kestrel on Goose Egg Hill, and an owl in a Russian Olive tree. He was not easily seen but very cute.
Also saw a Rough-legged hawk, they come down from Canada for the winter starting about September. No good shots but enough to ID him.

On the way in.

Goose Egg Hill -

Pheasant hunter and his black lab...

Great Horned Owl.

A shallow water boat and duck hunter.

On the way out!
