Oregon Day one

We flew into Portland this morning and drove down to our rental place in Otter Rock, about 8 miles north of Newport.  We stopped for lunch at a funky place in Portland, then for groceries at Whole Foods. Good and Plenty's were found at an IGA along the way.

Didn't do a lot this evening - back to Depoe Bay a few miles north to have dinner, watched a beautiful sunset from the dining room and ate great clam chowder. Good to be in Oregon.
The whales were active this afternoon - no breaching but lots of spouting all over the place. It's a real challenge to figure out where they are going to come up next.  Lots of photos of blank water!!!

We'll get more as time goes on, hopefully a breach or two also. Here's a few from this afternoon.

On the beach at Lincoln City.

Whale!

Fascinating waves and wind interactions..

Another whale!
