Refuge Sunday

Despite sunshine, the smog continues in the valley and is not very supportive of good photography. Or maybe it is me!

Anyway, the Harriers are out in force, zipping and harrying all over. Male and female, young and old. Best method to get captures seems to be to find a spot and let them come to you. Be prepared..they come out of nowhere sometimes.

A young GBH posed for photos, secure in it's belief that if it stood still for long enough, it was safe. Or it was frozen.  Not sure which but it was cute.

Otherwise a Kestrel posed for a photo.  Lots of bird watchers, with a few serious photographers. Here's what I liked..

A juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron was resting...fell asleep after a while despite human traffic..
