Uinta visit

My brother-in-law and I visited the Uinta's yesterday; I wanted to show him the vast spaces that are there.  He really enjoyed it; we had a beautiful day with a light, cool breeze.  Here's a couple of shots from the trip.

Back home

We came down from Solitude around mid-day, and spent a very relaxing day at home.  The timelessness of being in the mountains has followed us down and we are luxuriating in the day! Of course, I have to take photos of the beauty around us and here's a couple that I saw walking around the yard.

Lazy Day

We spent today just hanging out at Solitude Ski Resort - taking walks, reading, sitting at the pool, swimming, and on and on.  A few puffy clouds came by but otherwise the sky was blue and clear all day.
Here's the view from the swimming pool - not a bad life!

There is an Alphorn festival/contest going on with a free concert Sunday afternoon.  We got a free concert on our way to Kimi's for dinner.

This is one of those shots that you see and you have to take.

The moon rising - no clouds to act as counterparts so had to come up with another way to present the moon.

Solitude shots

Wandering around at Solitude Ski area, enjoying the hot sun and cool breezes in the afternoon, potguts running around everywhere squeaking their high-pitched squeal. Summertime, and the livin is easy, fish were jumping - as the song goes so goes life.
Fish were jumping, living is easy.  Here's a couple of shots of what life looks like!

Down by the stream, the wildflowers are in full bloom:

Looking back at the main solitude facility; we are staying in the top at this end.

These little guys were going nuts over the flies; jumping everywhere!

Mountain sunset-moonrise

We're staying at Solitude Ski Resort with family from Syracuse, NY, and watched the sunset in the west and the moonrise in the east last night.  Of the two, I liked the moonrise the best.  Here's one of the shots.

Can't stay away from flowering beauty

Sitting on the back deck talking with my brother-in-law and these flowers just kept jumping out at me.  Had to take their picture :-)

Takes more than one.

The moon by itself is a sweet note; the dove by itself is another note - but together they can play more than just two notes!  Intriguing how subjects support one another.
