Antelope Island is a magical and mystical place - just spend some quiet time there and you'll see.
So much beauty and so little time to capture these moments! Remember that you can see a larger view by clicking on the photo.

Wintry Weather!
Wonderful wintry weather - rain here in the valley and snow up in the mountains. Finally we get some moisture!

What?
As I review photos I am often asking myself 'what about that scene made me want to photograph it?'. Here's a couple of examples - before and after the question - as I isolate what in the scene excited me.
Remember - I am creating what was in my mind, not necessarily the reality of the scene.

Visitor to Lone Peak house
We had seen a couple of hawks before while sitting on the deck but this time I had my camera.
This one is a juvenile Cooper's Hawk.
Two hawks, one chasing the other, came roaring by and one came back and sat on the fence for a while. Diana says that they follow me around!! These guys move so quickly through the trees and shrubs that it is hard to follow them.
Say hello!

Rainy day
Can you visit Seattle and not have rain? Not this time for us. But we went east to Snoqualmie Falls to have brunch and see if the falls were visible - and had water. Here's a couple of photos from the visit.
We had brunch in the lodge at the top left of the photo overlooking the falls.
Slower shutter speed makes the falls look dreamy.
Panorama - love the stump - NOT!

Pike Place Market and the Waterfront
We spent most of the day at the market and the waterfront taking in the sights - lot of people, flowers, color and noise. Here's some shots from the day...
Why would you dress so beautifully and walk barefoot through the streets of Seattle?
The guy on the right had a great voice!
Love the instrumental diversity!
He's going to clown school!
Waiting for tourists to throw food to him!
DB Cooper mime.
Mount Rainer from I-90!

Visiting Seattle
We're in Seattle for a few days attending a wedding of a friend's daughter and getting to spend time with my sister and niece. A great time to visit - weather is good (sun is shining today)!
Here's some shots from a walkabout last night with Alison and Kim.
Getting ready to walk around.
Week-old ice sculpture in Pioneer Square.
Street view
Inside a funky creative bar - drinks are unique.
Old alleyway.
Entrance to restaurant.
Outside Centurylink Field at night.

Manti LaSal mountains
We were fortunate to spend the weekend in the Manti LaSal mountains just above Fairview, Ut. at friends' cabin. Good fall weather, good food and good conversation! Lots of raptors to capture and the Sandhill Cranes did their morning and evening talking that entertained us.
Here's a few shots from the weekend - more to come.
On the way to Fairview we had a small rainstorm but wonderful light!
The first of many hawks that presented themselves for a photograph.
Kissing Aspens!
Late afternoon light on the mountains.
Love the Aspen and their magical leaves.
