Full moons are fascinating - waiting for it to come up; seeing the various clouds and airplanes, etc., around it makes for some drama - and then watching it go down. Here's a few of the moonrise over the Oquirrh's..
So much beauty and so little time to capture these moments! Remember that you can see a larger view by clicking on the photo.

Along the way - beauty.
The walk to Lower Calf Creek Falls is full of beauty, best noticed on your way to the falls since the way back is often consumed with thoughts of cold drinks! Here's a few shots along the way...

On the road again.
We had a wonderful breakfast at Hell's Backbone Grill, then checked out and drove over to the Grill's garden to see where they grew all the wonderful vegetables they served.
Then on the road again - stopped to photograph this Golden Eagle as he flew from a deer that he was feeding on. A bit further down the road we had to stop again, this time to watch a couple of Sandhill Cranes feeding. A great way to end a great trip.

Lower Calf Creek Falls walk
Well, probably hike is a better description of a 6 mile r/t walk. We were greeted by the ubiquitous raven as we arrived at the trailhead and enjoyed the scenery and people along the way. The falls were stunning as always and different than before - the hidden colors and flows make for some very interesting photos. Here's some from the day. mtc.

Rainy day in Boulder
Rain started early this morning and lasted into the mid-afternoon. So we took a ride up the Burr Trail to the end of Long Canyon, then coffee and cookies at the Kiva Koffeehouse just past Calf Creek Campground. A good nap and then a great dinner using the BBQ at poolside at Boulder Mountain Lodge.
Here's a few shots from the rainy day - a challenge to keep the rain off the lens and out of the photo. The colors are very dynamic in the rain - and there is so much to see in this area.

Light and color and big sky!
We're in Boulder Utah for a few days enjoying Boulder Mountain Lodge and Hell's Backbone Grill along with friends. The ride over Boulder Mountain did not yield any photos - way too much smoke and haze and clouds - flat flat light. But the morning sun on clouds at home and the afternoon play of light and shadow on the mountains by Koosharem were well worth capturing. We'll see what tomorrow brings!

Visitor in the skies
I was sitting on the back deck watching Diana toil away in the garden and our landscaper extending our sprinklers to the back property and here comes a hawk to check it all out! He spiraled over us many times and then a Kestrel came along and hassled him for a while!

Around the house
Hard to get bored around the house, so many things to see and do. Wears me out sometimes :-)
Here's a few from last night as the sun set in the smoke.

Surrounded by Nature's Beauty
Yesterday I spent some time at Red Butte Garden taking photos of the Fragrance Garden as reminders of what we might do in a portion of the back 40! So here's a few flower photos.
Then the sun set red in the smokey haze last night and this morning the vegetable harvest was superb!
Enjoy!
Squash and cukes on bottom, arugula in middle and various types of tomatoes on top!

Big sky country
We love driving this big sky country - the view never ends and is changing with the moment and the light! Here's a look as we approach Hildale on the way to St. George!
PS. This is a through the windshield shot at 70mph.

A short trip
We are in Page today for Diana to do the service at St. David's, then on to St. George to spend time with Sharon.
Wide open beautiful country here that requires time and consideration to photographing it. We'll be back. Here's a view looking south on the way in before dipping down to the dam.

Cedar Mountains
Along with wild horses there is much other beauty in the Cedar Mountain area. The open wildness of the land, and the (apparently) ancient cedar forms, rocks, grasses, etc..all combine to make the experience very powerful.

Wild Horses!
We went looking and discovered them! 7 in the small herd and a long ways away. Beautiful creatures that watched us for a few minutes and then moved on.
